Bird  Hooded Crow

Latin name: Corvus cornix

Size: Approximately 48cms

Distribution: Occurs mainly in N.W. Scotland, Isle of Man and Ireland

Months seen: All year round

Food: Anything. Like the carrion crow the hooded crow is omnivorous

Habitat: Farmland, rocky open country, moorland and coastal cliffs.

Special features: Distinguished from the all black carrion crow by its grey and black plumage. Otherwise the two species are very similar in looks and habits.
