Bob Ball took this shot of a water vole at a disused but preserved canal in Derbyshire. Bob told us there is a small population
of water voles there, but they're usually well hidden
and not always possible to photograph. He was lucky enough to spot this one in an open situation while he had his backup camera to hand (a Canon PowerShot S5 IS).
