Wren by Dick Roberts

This picture of a wren with its beak full of
nesting material was taken by Dick Roberts. Dick runs a pet friendly B&B in the Yorkshire Wolds set in about 40 acres. The
shot was taken through a hatch which he's fitted at the rear of the house. He used a Sigma 70-300mm lens on a Minolta 5D slr. Dick said he noticed the wren building a nest above his office window, but had to wait ages for it to land on this particular perch. He couldn’t photograph it lower down as he already has a video camera set up through the same hatch recording the trees coming into leaf in time-lapse.
