Spotted Flycatcher by Denise Ringdahl

Click Here Send this Photo as a Postcard

This photo of a Spotted Flycatcher was taken by Denise Ringdahl while she was in the Lake District. She'd stopped at a pub to have something to eat & drink and watched a pair of them who had a nest in a dry stone wall. They were flying backwards & forwards only stopping to land on the wrought iron garden gate before going the feed their young in the nest. As the photo clearly shows, they really do catch flies.

The picture was taken with a Nikon D200 camera, a 80-400mm VR F/4-5-5.6D lens. Focal length 400mm,1/320sec at F5.6.
