Latin name: Thymelicus acteon
Size: Wingspan approximately 25mms.
Distribution: Only found on the chalk hills and cliffs of Dorset, England, between Weymouth and
Swanage.
Months seen: July to September
Food: Nectar. The green caterpillars feed on Tor grass.
Habitat: Tall grassland and meadows.
Special features: The upper wings feature a golden coloured 'C' shaped marking.
