Perhaps a little early in the year for Santa to arrive, but not apparently for things to come down the Chimney. In November 2005 this adult male Little Owl paid a night time visit to a house in Geddington, Northamptonshire, making his entrance down the chimney and into the fireplace.
The staff of "Safewings" retrieved him the following morning and apart from a few sooty marks he was none the worse for wear.

Owls
(available from Amazon.co.uk)
Reveals all the facts about the five British owls - and some surprising ones about foreign ones. It details their battery of weapons for hunting, and their strategies for survival. As with other books in this series, 'Owls' is
presented in a style which will appeal to all ages.
