Ladybird  Kidney-Spot Ladybird

Latin name: Chilocorus renipustulatus

Size: Approximately 5mms

Distribution: Found in some parts of the U.K. but not common.

Months seen: April to October

Food: Scale insects on the bark of trees

Habitat: Deciduous woodland

Special features: Black body with two large red spots on each wing casing. The antennae and underside are orange. The wing casings have a distinctly flattened flange all the way round.
