Snail  Plaited Door Snail

Latin name: Cochlodina laminata

Size: Approximately 15 to 18mms long and 3 to 4mms wide

Distribution: Found in most parts of the UK.

Months seen: All year round

Food: Algae and vegetation

Habitat: Woodlands. Often seen on tree trunks.

Special features: The plaited door snail has a club shaped shell with up to eleven whorls. The shell is a deep red-brown colour.
